Safety Tips

Your safety is our top priority. These tips will help you stay safe while getting the most out of myteeb.

💻 Online Safety

🔑
Protect your account

Use a strong, unique password for myteeb. Never share your login credentials with anyone — not even someone you trust on the platform.

🚩
Watch for red flags

Be cautious of anyone who quickly professes love, refuses to video chat, or asks you for money. These are classic signs of a romance scam.

🔗
Don't click suspicious links

If someone sends you a link in a message, be careful. Scammers often use links to steal your personal information.

📵
Keep conversations on myteeb

Use our built-in messaging system. Moving to external apps too quickly can put you at risk.

💳
Never send money

No matter how convincing the story, never send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency to someone you've met online but haven't met in person.

🤝 Meeting in Person

📍
Meet in a public place

Always meet for the first time in a busy, public location — a café, restaurant, or shopping centre. Avoid private or isolated locations.

📱
Tell someone you trust

Before you go, let a friend or family member know who you're meeting, where, and when. Share the person's profile with them if possible.

🚗
Arrange your own transport

Get yourself to and from your date independently. Do not accept a ride from someone you've just met.

🍹
Watch your drink

Never leave your drink unattended. If you feel suddenly unwell, tell someone you trust immediately.

📞
Check in

Arrange to check in with a friend during the date. Having a pre-agreed "rescue call" plan is always a smart idea.

🚨 Report & Block

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can block them instantly from their profile page. You can also report them — our moderation team reviews all reports and takes appropriate action. You will never be identified as the reporter.

In an emergency, always contact your local emergency services (e.g. 999, 911, 112) first.
