Managing Your Account

All account settings are in one place: myteeb.com/settings. Access it via the ⚙️ gear icon in the sidebar. This page covers email, password, username, Google account, privacy, notifications, and account deactivation.

Changing Your Email Address

  1. 1
Go to Settings → Account → Change Email
  2. 2
    Enter your new email address

Also enter your current password to confirm it's you.

  3. 3
    Verify the new email

We send a verification link to your new address. Click it to complete the change. Until you verify, your old email address remains active.

If you signed up with Google and have no password yet, you'll need to set a password first (Settings → Change Password) before you can change your email.

Changing Your Password

  1. 1
Go to Settings → Account → Change Password
  2. 2
    Enter your current password

    Required to confirm your identity.

  3. 3
Enter and confirm your new password

Must be at least 8 characters. Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for a strong password.

  4. 4
    Save changes

Your new password takes effect immediately. All other sessions are logged out for security.

💡 Forgotten your current password? Log out and use the Forgot Password flow to reset it via email.

Changing Your Username

Your username appears in your public profile URL (myteeb.com/your-username) and in the header area of your profile.

⚠️ Important: You can only change your username once every 6 months. The restriction is enforced automatically. Choose your new username carefully before saving.
  1. 1
    Go to Settings → Username
  2. 2
    Type your new username

Usernames can contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens. Minimum 3 characters, maximum 30. Usernames are unique — you'll be told immediately if one is taken.

  3. 3
    Save

If you haven't changed your username in the past 6 months, the change is applied instantly. Your old profile URL now redirects to your new one.

Google Account

You can link or manage your Google account connection from Settings → Account.

  • Link Google to an email account: If you signed up with email/password, you can link a Google account so you can also log in with "Continue with Google" in the future.
  • Set a password for a Google account: If you signed up with Google and want to also log in with email/password, go to Settings → Change Password and create one.

Notification Preferences

Control which events trigger notifications. Go to Settings → Notifications to toggle these on or off:

  • New match notification
  • New message notification
  • Someone liked your profile
  • Someone Super Liked you
  • Album access request
  • Profile view notification

All notifications appear in the in-app notification bell. Email notifications (if enabled by the admin) are also sent for matches and messages.

Deactivating Your Account

Deactivation temporarily hides your profile. You can come back any time by logging in again.

What Deactivation Does

  • Your profile is hidden from Discover — no one will see you while deactivated.
  • Your profile URL shows a generic "this user isn't available" message.
  • All your data (matches, messages, photos) is preserved.
  • To reactivate, simply log in — your profile returns to the feed immediately.
  1. 1
    Go to Settings → Account
  2. 2
    Scroll to "Deactivate Account"

Click the Deactivate button. You'll be asked to confirm.

  3. 3
    Confirm deactivation

Your account is immediately deactivated and you're logged out.

Deleting Your Account

If you want to permanently delete your myteeb account and all your data, please contact our support team. Account deletion is irreversible — all your matches, messages, photos, and subscription history will be permanently removed.

⚠️ This cannot be undone. Make sure you want to permanently delete everything before contacting support. Consider using Deactivation instead if you just need a break — it preserves all your data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I change my username?
Usernames can only be changed once every 6 months. If the option is greyed out, it means you changed your username less than 6 months ago. The settings page shows you the date you can next change it.
I deactivated my account — will my subscription still be charged?
Yes. Deactivation hides your profile but does not cancel your subscription. If you want to stop being charged, cancel your subscription separately by contacting support.
I signed up with Google — can I change my email?
Your Google-linked email is managed through Google. To change the email used for Google sign-in, update it in your Google account settings. The change will reflect on myteeb at your next login.
Can I have multiple myteeb accounts?
No. Each person is allowed one account on myteeb. Duplicate accounts violate our community guidelines and may result in all accounts being banned.
